Taking Notes During A Call

Press the hot key to open a Contact Card (defaults to Control-Shift-N). This will open a card for the last dialed or answered call (if any). The card will open with the cursor positioned to begin typing a note. When you are done typing, you can press Enter to save your note and close the window. This allows you to add notes during a call without needing to remove your hands from the keyboard. You can also double-click on a Growl notification or click on a card icon in any Phone Amego window.

Checking Your Calls While You Were Out

If there is a Growl notification on your screen, you can double-click on it to open the corresponding source. Otherwise press the hot key to open the Call Log window (defaults to Control-Shift-L). This will show a list including any recent calls you might have missed. Click on the Card icon for any call to open the corresponding card. To return a call or get more information, press the hot key to open the Call window (defaults to Control-Shift-C). From the Call window, you can show related contacts in your Address Book, related appointments in your Calendar, or related Email messages in Mail.

Checking Your Calls While You Are Out

If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can receive a push notification each time Phone Amego detects a call. To do this, enable "Use Growl" in Phone Amego and install Prowl (a Growl client for iOS) on your iPhone or iPad. Open Growl Preferences on your Mac and configure Prowl under the "Displays" tab. You can also use iCal logging in Phone Amego and sync calls to your iPhone calendar using iCloud.

Updating a Contact in your Address Book

Press the hot key to open the Call window (defaults to Control-Shift-C). Press Edit Contact to open the corresponding contact in your Address Book for editing (creating a new one if needed).

Finding Related Contacts

Press the hot key to open the Call window (defaults to Control-Shift-C). Press Show Related Contacts to search for related contacts (defaults to Address Book). To use Google Contacts instead of Address Book, specify an Event URL to open Google Contacts as shown. The same technique can be used with Salesforce and other web applications.
